Since I subscribed to Crunchyroll after the 60 day trial from Sony, I’ve finally settled on one series that seems to have everything I’m looking for in anime. The story is interesting, characters are as well. I’m still not in love with the silly female voices but maybe that’s something I’ll have to get used to. And yes, I do watch everything in original Japanese with English subtitles. For me, it’s a way to maybe learn a word or two of Japanese but if not, at least I can pick up information on the voice changes that Japanese speakers use.
It seems that there’s always a bit of history in most of the anime series and movies I watch. This series mentions certain periods but I’m not sure if these are fictional. Since the series takes place in a fantasy world, I suspect they are. Some series are completely factual in the history described in them. The same goes for manga novels, some of the most famous can even be used for reference.
The thing about watching this on Crunchyroll is that you don’t have to wait for the next episode. They have 24 episodes right now and I can only hope that this is the total number. There was a two year gap between the original season and season 2 so who knows? Maybe there will be a third season.
Check it out, folks. Crunchyroll is quite inexpensive and although I have no connection to Sony, it seems to be a great spot for anime. Netflix is just too expensive for what I would get out of it. I might have thought about it before they started putting ads in but not now. What do you think? Would you pay extra to go ad-free? Comment below to give me your opinion.
I’ve been working on my e-seminar for Momiji over the last few days so I’m a bit weary from sitting at my PC for hours. Time to get up and clean the house!

Cheers on this very cold but sunny Thursday in Toronto.
