This time of the year in Canada is a period of reminiscing with friends and family. ‘Remember when…’ is often heard in our conversations. In other parts of the world these feelings might come up at a different time for a different holiday. Maybe it’s the New Year, maybe a festival but whatever it is, this is a good time to start journaling/blogging. I always find this time of year very intense emotionally. My wife loved Christmas and the past five or six holiday seasons have been full of all kind of memories, both tender and sweet as well as sad and tragic.
I can’t think of a better time to start putting pen to paper, dear readers. What were the holidays like when you were young? I remember cold and snow back at the farm but also the smell of turkey and ‘all the fixings’. Our stockings were full of treats for Christmas morning, things like chocolate and candy every year. I’d be up long before the sun, trying to figure out what was in my stocking with my fingers in the pitch black of very early morning.
If you can think of a reason NOT to start journaling, I’d love to hear from you. To me, there is nothing that could possibly be stopping you from writing down at least one memory every single day. This is the perfect time to start. Make a resolution for the New Year and let’s get ‘er done!
Best wishes to everyone. Thanks for reading. If you liked what you’ve read here, please comment below. I will always reply.
