In February of 2024, I started a new ‘career’ as a volunteer. Before that, the only sort of ‘good’ thing I did was to donate blood every two months. I’m O- which is the universal blood type, the one they use in emergencies. They tell me that O- goes into babies, too.
My neighbours across the street were Japanese. It was always Grace’s dream to move into the Japanese senior’s home near us. Grace was younger than Ken, her husband, so she had plans set for when he died. Unfortunately she died first, a victim of cancer, same as my wife. Ken lasted a few years longer but now they’re both gone. I’ll share some stories about them later.
Now I’m a volunteer in the senior’s home where Grace wanted to end up. Every time I go there I think of her and Ken.
So, that’s the first post. This place looks pretty barren right now but maybe it will be brighter soon. Stick around. Drop me a comment…as soon as I find out how to do that!
